Tecumseh Poultry was founded in 1998, based on a simple goal to produce the best fresh chicken in the US. The company's system is a pure air chill system: Absolutely no water is utilized in the chill chamber. The chickens enter and exit the chamber on individual shackles and circulate through the chamber until they have reached the requisite temperature. The company's chicken is sold at retail food outlets in the US under the Smart Chicken brand name. Its products include fresh chicken, ground chicken, sausages, nuggets or tenders, and bone broth. Founded in 1998, Tecumseh was acquired by food giant Tyson Foods in 2018.
