Assistance with ISO 9001:2015 Transition Helps Customer Retain Sales

Rosene Machine, Inc. operates a variety of Computer Numeric Control (CNC) machines to produce custom parts in metal for a range of industries and applications. Rosene also serves the well-drilling and plumbing markets with internal pipe-cutting products. Rosene Machine was established as a part-time business by founder, Dennis Rosene. Rosene currently employs a staff of seven in Firth, Nebraska. More information available at rosenemachine.com

Situation

As a part manufacturer and fabricator to numerous suppliers, Rosene needed ISO certification to qualify for new markets and assure customers in multiple industries of their quality and reliability. They were also feeling pressure by some of their current customers to be ISO 9001:2015 certified.

Solution

Using the Nebraska MEP, Rosene Machine successfully went through ISO compliance and certification over a six-month period.

Results

This project led to improved operations for Rosene Machine and helped with customer retention. Specific outcomes include:

• Retained $300,000 in sales
• Invested $17,000 in in software, training, and employee time
• Resulted in 2 jobs being retained or created
• Obtained ISO 9001:2015 certification in under 1 year
