The situation regarding COVID-19, the coronavirus, has changed dramatically over the past several weeks. In light of the current health issues and precautions taken to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus, the Nebraska Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) will continue to suspend in-person meetings, and in-person/onsite training events for the time being.

COVID -19 resources for small to mid-size manufacturers are available from NIST MEP. Of particular interest is a Critical Supplier Survey to identify and locate volunteers who can donate and provide and/or produce, within two weeks, large-scale quantities of critical supplies to help the nation respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Officials from the State of Nebraska and the Nebraska MEP are also interested in connecting smaller-scale suppliers to meet the needs of local hospitals and medical providers. We have set up an online form to collect this information.

Please keep in mind it is difficult to plan with so many unknowns but we are optimistic that the threat from COVID-19 will be behind us by the summer. When the pandemic is behind us, we will again be offering in-person training and events for the manufacturing sector. Additionally, the Program Office from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) MEP is interested in learning how this crisis is affecting manufacturers.

Please call or email any of us at the Nebraska MEP if you have needs or ideas on how we could help-or drop your suggestions here.
